After a hot weekend in Richmond, we were sure glad that the shows were held indoors! Looks like summer may have arrived and we got rain only on Friday. Back home the weather is more pleasant today and it is time for the weekly show closing reminder.
Closing Wednesday at 12 noon is the Shawnee K.C. – SUNDAY ONLY – July 12th.
We will not be doing the Saturday show — only the Sunday show. As always, contact us if you would like us to make the entries for you.
NATIONAL SPECIALTIES:
Now that it is almost July, it is time to think about the upcoming National Specialties we will be attending. Please reserve your spot early. Remember at National Specialties we only accept two dogs in a class. BOB we are able to accept multiple entries at all Nationals that have large enough entry numbers to split the BOB class into groups. Small Nationals, we will only accept two specials. It is not too early to start planning on attending your National, so let us hear from you!
September – Portuguese Water Dog Club of America National Specialty
October – American Bouvier des Flandres Club National Specialty
October – Akita Club of America National Specialty – We will NOT be
showing any dogs at this National Specialty – Jo Ann is judging!
In the next couple of weeks we’ll be working on the schedule and get it out to you as soon as completed.

CLOSING TOMORROW AT 12 NOON – JUNE 17th
The four shows held at Howard County Fairgrounds, West Friendship, MD are closing tomorrow at 12 noon. These shows are indoors in a building cooled by large fans.
Majors are being built in PWD’s at these shows.
Please let us know, as always, if you would like us to make the entry for you or if you are making the entry, please send confirmation of same. Thank you.

Closing on Wednesday 6/10 are the five shows in Southern MD – The first day is a hound only show followed by four all breed shows. Additional attractions at this show are the highly contested volley ball games in the evening and the fabulous all you can eat seafood feast. Definite added reasons to attend!
If you have not done so already (and many of you have), please send us email confirmation of any entries you have made or if you would like us to make the entries for you.
These shows are held outdoors in Bel Alton, MD which is just off rt. 301. We will be arriving on Wednesday in preparation for the Hound Show.

Closing on Wednesday, June 3rd will be the following shows:
Virginia All Terrier Club June 19
Virginia K.C. – All Breed June 20
Virginia K.C. – All Breed June 21
These shows are indoors in air conditioning and located in Richmond, VA.
There are usually majors in the Terrier Breeds and local folks are building majors in Akitas. Entries in other breeds are generally on the lower side unless a group of people ban together to build majors in a particular breed.
We will be making entries on Tuesday — if you would like us to make the entry for you, please get in touch with us. If you are making your own entry, please send us confirmation of same.

Hi all! well if the plants haven’t drowned by now, they should be growing taller than ever with all the spring rains we have had. And trying to keep dogs looking good in rain and mud is a real feat — not to mention how the handlers look!!! Luckily, this weekend, we will be heading for the Memorial Day cluster in Hampton, VA which is indoors in a beautiful climate controlled setting — yea!!!
CLOSING THIS WEEK – WEDNESDAY AT 12 NOON, MAY 20TH
The four shows in lower virginia. These shows are held indoors with very nice air conditioning as it can get hot for these shows (gee, wouldn’t mind seeing the sun a little bit!!). They are relatively small shows and great for garnering single points or building your own majors and for group placements.

Closing next Wednesday at 12 noon are the three Wrightstown, PA shows which will be an outside venue. These are held on the same grounds as the fall Hatboro K.C. show.

Coming next week will be the latest show schedule.
We’re off to Chester Valley / Lancaster shows for what looks like another very wet weekend — when will it ever stop!!!!

Hi everyone — are you all feeling a little soggy? I know I am and showing this past weekend outdoors in the mud and rain was a little less than fun — even the dogs who normally like it, were saying enough is enough – all our toys are soaking wet now!
I was sent the following news clipping from one of our clients about her PWD Solo — he will begin his show career with us this coming weekend at the Keystone PWD Specialty and he is the full brother to the Obama’s dog Bo. here it is for all to enjoy — I think that owner Karen and Solo did a fabulous job:

Please remember that this Saturday is the big Keystone PWD Specialty and Meeting and Picnic Lunch and Raffle — it is always a fun time and we hope that you will be able to attend even if you don’t have an entry in. — they are a great group of people.

Closing on Wednesday, May 6th will be the four shows in Hampton, VA. These shows are indoors in air conditioning. It is a nice venue and the dogs are happy to be in climate control. Here are the shows and their closing dates:

ATTENTION – SHOWS NEXT WEEKEND
Dogs that have been entered at the Chester Valley / Lancaster week of shows will need to be dropped off by Wednesday if we are grooming and by Thursday 9 a.m. if you are doing the grooming. This show hosts the Keystone PWD Specialty with Sweeps. The Keystone club puts on a great show with accompanying picnic and raffle. It is welcome to all PWD owners and admirers.
