November 18, 2008 Jo Ann was rushed to the hospital for low sodium, so I’m sending this e-mail for her. Winston/Salem entries close Wed. 12:00. It would be extremely helpful if you could do your own entries since Joann cannot, and I will be VERY busy getting ready to leave tomorrow for Reading.

November 3, 2008 Please note that this Wednesday, November 5th, the Philadelphia Cluster of shows will be closing. These four shows will be held in Reading, PA and are large shows. Please let us know if you would like to have us make an entry or if you are making your entry yourself.
IMPORTANT NOTE: SPACE IS ASSIGNED — IF YOU ARE MAKING YOUR OWN ENTRY, I NEED TO RECEIVE YOUR DOG’S REGISTERED NAME AND NUMBER TO SUBMIT SO THAT ALL OF OUR DOGS WILL BE BENCHED TOGETHER — THIS IS VITALLY IMPORTANT.

October 27, 2008 Hi everyone and wishing you all a happy and safe Halloween. Don’t forget about our time change coming this weekend — I for one will be overjoyed when it is daylight before 7:15 AM each morning and I won’t need to have lights on to exercise dogs but, then again, I hate the early dusk that we also have to endure. as you can tell, I like the warmer months!!
CLOSING ON WEDNESDAY AT 12 NOON — OCTOBER 29
Please remember that closing this Wednesday are the four Howard County shows. These shows are indoors at the ever popular Howard County Fairgrounds, exit 80 off of Rt. I 70. This weekend also hosts the Greater Baltimore Akita Club specialty on Friday which means majors for us that have been looking for them. HOWEVER, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY AKITA ENTRIES FOR SATURDAY’S SHOW. The judge that they have chosen touts herself as a past Akita breeder and the last time she judged, her behavior was so bizarre and her judging methods so poor that the AKC rep was required to reprimand her after judging. I do not know how she got this assignment but, I would not recommend any entries under her. all other days look great for the judging panel.
Majors are also being built in Bouviers and in PWD’s and are usually in Berners, as well as several other breeds with the end of the year fast approaching, this is the perfect opportunity to complete those championships.
CLOSING WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 5 - THE PHILADELPHIA CLUSTER
Closing next week on Wednesday at 12 noon are the four shows comprising the Philadelphia Cluster. These shows have traded weekends with the Turkey Cluster shows for this year only as they could not rent their new site on their normal weekend. Next year the shows will go back to their normal dates. the new site is located in reading, pa — which is great news as the Philadelphia city location was terrible. The new show site is the Greater Reading Expo center at 2525 N 12th street in Reading.
Again, this show affords majors in a number of breeds and is the last really large show of the year.
As always, if you are making your own entries for any of the above shows, please email me confirmation. Also, please remember to include agent numbers on your entries — P0041 for Jo Ann and 1200 for Adam.
WESTMINSTER TICKETS -
Remember that I need to have all orders including payment by December 1 for the Westminster Box seats. Cost is $130 and covers both days and are in an excellent location.

October 16, 2008 Closing on Wednesday, October 22nd are the three Salisbury, MD shows. these shows are held indoors and provide a number of point opportunities for many breeds. Also, the Delmarva PWD club will have a supported entry complete with sweepstakes — this usually draws a large pwd entry. for those coming to the shows, DelMarVa PWD usually does a dinner and invite all pwd exhibitors to attend as well as a raffle. A great opportunity to showcase your young dogs and your veterans.

October 14, 2008 Although this is not the ordinary type of announcement, so many of you knew Sandy that I wanted to let everyone know that Sandy passed away this morning. Many of you knew not only her but her dogs - Scout and Traveler as well as the girls we’ve shown over the years. Sandy was one of those exceptional people that you could never forget. Always positive, she fought hard against the cancer that finally beat her, yet always thinking of everyone else instead of her own plight. When I thought of not going to the Akita National this year, it was Sandy who insisted I go. she was not only a client but a cherished friend whom I feel so lucky to have known. The dog fancy has lost one of its great people and the Belgian Malinois has lost a breeder of note and one of its greatest advocates.

The four shows in Va Beach will be closing next week. these are indoor shows at a beautiful location and generally have good entries in many breeds. if you would like to enter these four shows, please contact us with entry confirmation or ask that we make these entries for you.
REMEMBER PWD PEOPLE - closing the week after that 10/22, will be the salisbury, md shows which hosts the delmarva specialty event — please let us know about entries. again, these are all breed shows held indoors at a great location.

October 6, 2008 IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!
Yes, even though fall is just arriving, it is time to think about the Westminster Kennel Club show — the fabulous Madison Square Garden — where if you have never been before, you need to go at least once!
And if you are going, whether to watch your own dog being shown or just to witness the show, it is time to start thinking about box seats as the order request has just arrived.
Seats are $130 each which are good for both days of the garden, and a real requirement for evening groups if you want to be able to see them without being in the nosebleed section. you may enter and leave as many times as you wish during the day or evening and these tickets are still good. I will need your orders and payment thereof by November 15th. No tickets can be ordered without pre-payment and after November 15th, no tickets will be available. So, get your requests in by the middle of next month if you wish to attend.
