Return from the Florida Circuit

Hi everyone, we’ve just gotten back this week from the very successful Florida circuit. It was such a great move on our part and our clients who entered, to “bite the bullet” and do the long drive down to Florida where there were points galore and we managed to snag many of them. The shows held in this area just did not provide the points that were needed for our dogs to accomplish what they needed to do in obtaining their championships and/or breed wins. So we were extremely happy about this circuit. Some of the highlights are listed below:

Winning multiple Bests of Breed in very heavy competition:
PWD – Caswell
Newfoundland – Cole
Ches.Bay Retriever – Salem
Belgian Malinois – Fancy

with the following girls winning Best of Opposite:
PWD – Roxie (winning every day but two)
Bernese Mt. Dog – Nelke
Norfolk Terrier – Gabby

Finishing their championships on this one circuit were:
Bouvier – Uno
Bouvier – Dexter
Ches.Bay Retriever – Salem
Newfoundland – Cole

And picking up points towards their championships, in addition to the dogs listed above who finished:
Bouvier – Electra (including 5 pt. major)
PWD – Danny (3 pt. major)
Norfolk Terrier – Gabby (including 3 pt. major)
Ches. Bay Retriever – Buck (including 3 pt. major)
Bernese Mt. Dog – Nelke (from the puppy class)

While we didn’t win every show, we were certainly happy with the overall results and took this as a good omen of the year to come in 2010.

PWD baby, Tara, went along and really enjoyed learning how to be a show dog — although she was not too sure about those big, metal, squared off things called golf carts.

The weather proved to be great with temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s and the only rain we got came mostly in the night — not enough to dampen anyone’s spirits.

We are now looking forward to next week’s shows in Wildwood, NJ and then off to the Garden. A new show schedule will be coming in the next few days — so start planning!

Newfoundland – Cole (who went on to multiple breed wins)
Bouvier – Dexter (who also won BOB from the classes
